So people seem to think I enjoy doing nothing with my day except watching television and frequently checking my email for any new job postings all day long. I've hit rock-bottom and decided to do an application for the dreaded Walmart. Apparently, I didn't pass their "personality/behaviour assessment." Uhm, screw you!? What, I didn't put enough "Strongly agree's?" Well, I'm sorry you like to make all your employees' lives a living HELL!

Ahem.

Speaking of which, what is the point of the Unicru tests? I'm told that if you score a "yellow" or "red" they don't even bother looking at the rest of your application and delete it. Why? It doesn't reduce the idiots that they may potentially hire. They're also not useful because anyone can easily lie on them.

Example: "It's maddening when the court lets guilty criminals go"

Uhm..Agree? Disagree? Strongly agree!?

It's a loaded question! How does one answer that!? Either I will be labeled as either a vigilante or a potential thief. How can a 60-65 question assessment tell you if I'm a viable, potential employee for a position? I thought that's what INTERVIEWS were for. I am inclined to agree that Human Resource departments have given a new meaning to the term "lazy" now.

Do you ever get emails for a job as a Purchasing Agent? Where some company from Europe that claims it has offices in the US are wanting you to handle bank transactions from different accounts around the world, and then they claim you can earn up to $3000 or more a month, for a PART TIME position? Yeah, I thought as much. Don't forget the ones that ask you to be a Sales Representative for some lame insurance company or as a Financial Consultant where you get paid based on some commission.

You know another thing that pisses me off? When you decide to actually CALL places that have openings and you ask them for the hiring manager and they either A)don't direct you, B) they're not in the office, C) in a meeting; then you call for several days to get the same "Let me take your name and number down and they'll call you back as soon as they can" gimmick. Then by the time you actually GET them the position has been filled by some idiotic high school student. I'm not asking to apply for an senior associate manager's job or as a CFO at a law firm, I'm applying to jobs that require a MINIMUM of a high school diploma!

I guess even with a degree, all I'm good for is flipping burgers. My only solace is knowing that several thousand other people are going through the same. Maybe the next step will be to ship all the unemployed away because they're no longer of use to anyone. I bet I could make a better receptionist than some crappy 10th grader. They may do it for the experience but I need it for survival now. Give me a chance!

If it's not people who are struggling to survive, it's the employed being overworked (at least they have work though..)

I feel so sick and nauseated right now. Happy birthday me right? Heh. Yeah. Thanks to all who gave me birthday wishes and gifts. They were much appreciated. For those who wish to but haven't been able to, then I'll be on today :) It's weird when people think I'm turning 15 because I apparently look 14. Oh well ^_^;; I just wish I could share this happiness and with my down and out chums. I just want to give all of them a big hug, one in particular. I have ACTs in about 1½ hours! Wish me luck x_x

I also wish to start a new, clean slate and "start over" as well so if you wish to be readded back to my list then let me know please and I will then decide if I wish you back on. I might make a few exceptions.

The school decides to cancel the AP Chemistry course because there aren't enough people in there. Thanks a lot. Maybe if you had better students we'd actually have something to strive on. Let's see what else is going to lie, cheat, and ruin my day. I feel it's going to go well into the week ^_^

This really stinks. I have to take the ACT on my birthday. It rots. Then a week later, I have SAT so I can't even be with my friend Laela on her birthday. So I must be up from 6 in the morning to take a 3½-4 hour test? Some birthday. Noooot pleasant -_- I have come to loathe SAT math and some of the verbal (analogies). I just don't get it all...at ALL. I feel like all my years of math were for nothing. We did two SAT math packets in class and I got next to nothing right. I've been studying the math strategies and rereading the problem over and over, as well as doing practice questions from my SAT book and I STILL don't get it. I want to get a better score than my last one which I am ashamed of and I feel like if I don't get higher on this one that I'm going to feel like a failure =( Especially when you have so many people counting on you and a scholarship on the line. How am I to pass this thing in 6 weeks time?

There is also another thing that's been hovering on my mind all day but I just well up with tears if I think of it so I'll try not to think it anymore.

I just feel so stupid and incompetent right now.

If I have another racist remark against me it will be too soon *rolls eyes* I'm setting up to make a rant/entry inspired by the narrow minded racist idiots at my school. And these people were not white, oh no, but they were indeed of dark skin and/or partially of West Indies descent or in other words "island girls" such as myself. One of the worst kinds you'll ever want to meet.

For those who may not know, I am multiracial. Being born from a mixed mother whose mother before her was indeed a white, yes white Jamaican woman whose ancestors came from England and so her genes have been passed onto me thus my light skinned complexion and slightly accented voice.

Yes these Caribbean wenches wish to call me "yellow" and that I can pass for a white person. Maybe I can but newsflash, why do you wish to continue to call me these things when I don't give a rat's bare backside? I've heard this "yellow" excuse for too long to want to care anymore. What am I supposed to be ashamed of my pretty skin and color complexion? I've been taunted for being light skinned for as long as I can remember and because I'm not "dark" enough, talk in a way that people can actually understand, and make something of myself in school, I am not your kind. Or maybe now it's become a crime for being light, bright, and damn near white eh? ^_^ Maybe you're too into your kinky hair, "ghetto fab," West Indian Jamaican pride to want to see past color and physical behavior. Oh no honey, we're more alike than you think or want to believe. And yet you are the same people who talk about only "white" people act racist? Ha..you amuse me. No really you do..^_^

You have the nerve to ask me if I have any other "reds" in my family because you're afraid that you could get "hanged"? Tsk... How about hell yes! I got an uncle who was married to a German. I have an uncle married to a Chinese Jamaican. A cousin who married yes a white man and has two lovely kids with. I also have a very special person who means a lot to me and guess what? He's white too ^_^ *gasp shock horror* I'm proud of who I am and I love my skin color, I wouldn't change it for the world and certainly not for a bunch of half-assed, close minded racists. Don't like it? Then kiss my Caribbean tanned, tropical toosh.

Tsk..I dislike these kind of people. It shows me that not only are you hypocritical, envious, stuck up losers but that you don't have a brain to think for yourselves and refuse to believe the reality that we are all one in the same. I really wish people would be a little more considerate and careful on the road when driving...especially in a residential neighborhood. *sighs* Here I am on my way home driving my mom and I after leaving my grandmother's house. I was driving through the neighborhood street where it's only 25-30 mph in the area. As I was on my way to the end of the stop sign, some guy in a navy blue van came on my side of the road at a high speed right at me then swerved out at the last minute. I had seen him coming and slowed down to a stop and just like that he zoomed past me, laughing. I didn't make such a huge reaction but now that I'm home and realizing how I could've just gotten into a head on collision and get seriously hurt or even dead I feel shaky now :( Knowing that my friends here wouldn't know would have happened hurts me more as well. I'm just thankful that he swerved out the way on time or else I don't know what would have happened... =\ *shrugs*

Is it just me?
